love letter

there's nothing in all the world I want but you -- and your precious love -- All the material things are nothing. I'd just hate to live a sordid, colorless existence -- because you'd soon love me less -- and less -- and I'd do anything -- anything -- to keep your heart for my own -- I don't want to live -- I want to love first, and live incidentally -- Why don't you feel that I'm waiting -- I'll come to you, Lover, when you're ready -- Don't don't ever think of the things you can't give me -- You've trusted me with the dearest heart of all -- and it's so damn much more than anybody else in all the world has ever had
.

Extract of a letter to the author F Scott Fitzgerald from his wife.

party gloves

the spring/summer collections are starting to roll in, but what use are they to us right now? you may ask. well whilst browsing style.com i came across a rather cute trend at the Erin Fetherston spring summer 2010 show I thought i'd share with you all. Although the clothes were amazing it was a finer detail that really caught my eye...

slightly see through lace and silk gloves adorned with string, chains, sequins and bits of broken gold and silver jewellery. such a simple yet chic look that's perfect for autumn evenings out to the theatre or glamorous winter parties. you can honour MJ's style with a sparkly white gloves or be gorgeously decadent with a black lace glove covered in gold.

this glove is my personal favourite from the collection, love how the glove is nearly entirely see through with just a thin layer of black. This trend is easy to recreate and hopefully i'll have my own pair of Erin Fetherston party gloves soon!

its easy to make your own:

all you need is 1 pair of lace/silk gloves
some black or white string
old silver and gold broken and unwanted jewellery

simply sew the jewellery onto your gloves and your good to go.

these gloves are only £4 at asos.com and would be great for customising.

nothing like the selby

with a cold and the best friend already at uni, i'm spending most of my time here at the moment. my bedroom.
with only 2 weeks of free time left its time to start buying the first pieces of your autumn wardrobe, reading all those books you said you'd read this summer and sharpening your pencils ready for education once more.

what kind of hippy would I be if I didn't own a dream catcher.
note: the rabbit is not real. dont worry i'm not being cruel keeping him in that tiny cage! his name is obama and he lives on my window sill. he was bought for me by the boyfriend because i cant have a real rabbit :(

tick tock

love the idea of wearing multiple watches. i've never really been a watch wearer. i only own one gold DKNY watch but its quite heavy and far too flashy for day time. the idea of multiple watches reminds me that keeping track of the time is pretty pointless. you can check the time but you cant control it. you've just got to let it be.

urban outfitters has the best watches on the high street right now. love the first one. but what i really want are some vintage watches. im thinking a broken one would like quite pretty, might be a bit of a safety hazard though.

do you wear a watch?
know anywhere that sells vintage watches?
let me know

cut me out and dress me up

I remember being in Year 7 and searching for any form of online game to save me from doing ICT work. It was there were my friends and I first discovered PaperdollHeaven.com and soon it became somewhat of an obsession. Getting to dress up your favourite celebs anyway you wanted? Sounded good to us. The craze got so extreme we even took it so far as to have dress-offs with each other. We both dressed the same celebrity and then randomly selected member of the class would judge the winner!

I went to visit the site a few days ago in a moment of sheer boredom and they've really upped their game (no pun intended). The clothes are so accurate, you can make outfits that are like identical to what the celebs wore.

My attempt at Lady Gaga.

Ok so i'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy recreating this haha. The site has also got a lot more fashion savvy, you can now dress a range of models including:
- Aggyness Deyn
- Lily Donaldson
- Chloe Sevingy
- Chanel Iman
- Sasha Pivovarova
- Heidi Klum
- Miranda Kerr
To name just a few.

You can also dress up a basic paperdoll in certain designers collections. They currently have an archive of DKNY and Vivienne Tam clothes that you can dress your paperdoll in!

However my favourite thing I found is that you can dress
Anna Wintour!

When I saw this on the site I couldn't resist and so I bring you...
When Anna went Gaga.
Channelling Lady Gaga, Anna is wearing nothing but underwear and hooker boots. Hehe.

Dress her up yourself at http://www.paperdollheaven.com, its honestly endless fun.

Let me know what crazy outfits you dress her in!

they said what?

What these celebs are really thinking...
according to me that is.

Just a bit of whimsical nonsense on a Saturday.

'Must hide awful shoes with expensive bag'

'We're easily the most fashionable people here'

'Yep I can pull a stupid face and still look hotter than you'

'You can copy my look Kristen but boys would still rather kiss me than you'

Got any ideas of your own?

Lamina Multi Chain Necklace

This is my favourite item on the site, it comes in a range of colours but I adore it in black, very Gothic. Perfect for autumn.

Three Mirrored Clasped Bracelet£12.99
Once again available in multiple colours, this bracelet reminds me of the Marie Antoinette renaissance era. Simple but chic.

Lamina Brooch

Faux pearls and and shiny gold, what more could you want!. Add to your coat for winter glamour.
